Workshops with Alex and Guy

Alex Murdoch and Guy Dartnell are Associate Artists of Improbable. Their 4-day improvisation workshops are for performers who are curious about live improvisation, whether they are interested in doing improvisation as part of a theatre practice or using those skills in other areas of performance.

The workshops focus on improvising live on stage, rather than improvisation as a way of devising and rehearsing work, or for sketch comedy. Alex and Guy draw on their collaborations with Improbable, as well as their own independent practice, to build narrative drama ‘in the moment’ for performance with presence and spontaneity. The workshops explore processes and techniques from a starting point of ‘being enough’ – focusing on how emotional openness and physical awareness can enable improvisors to collaborate creatively.

The most recent workshops were run in August 2018 and July 2019.
