Manifesting How-to (what we did in the workshop)
- intro: I described what I think 'Manifesting' is: articulating what you truly want to do/make happen. then, every day, tell yourself, and everyone you meet, about these ideas. By talking about it, working on it, sharing your ideas, it starts to happen, both because you are putting energy into it, and because other people give you ideas/share connections/join in. I've found it tends to really work, though it often takes longer than you think it will to happen.
Workshop
1. (5-10 mins) Centering - each person spent some time reflecting on the 3-5 things they most want to 'manifest' ie bring into the world/make happen.
2. (5-10 mins) Articulating - each person spends some time writing these things down in a word or phrase, trying to articulate the core idea you are trying to make happen. (for instance, one person originally thought their main aim was to get more work in theatre, but on reflection, decided that what was even more important was making authentic connections with other people.)
3. (10-15 mins) listening circle: in a small group (2-3 people), ea. person gets 4 mins to share what they want to manifest. listener(s) don't respond, simply listen/witness/receive what the speaker shares. Each person gets a chance to speak. (Suggest close your eyes/look away from the speaker, to remove the social pressure to react or give non-verbal approval.) What's important is the chance for the speaker to say out loud what they want to manifest, and to have others hear them.
4. (10 min) share in the wider group - 2 mins ea to report on what you want to manifest.
5. (optional) each person shares 1-word takeaway or action coming out of the session.
