SATYAGRAHA - Improbable's production of Philip Glass's Satyagraha finished its run at The Metropolitan Opera, New York on 1 May 2008. Satyagraha is the second in the composer’s landmark trilogy of 'portrait' operas about men who changed the world.
For more information, reviews and images go to the Satyagraha page on this website. Devoted and Disgruntled 3: over 200 of us gathered together over the weekend of 5/6/7 January at York Hall, Bethnal Green for Improbable's third Devoted and Disgruntled, What are we doing about theatre? It was wonderful to have so many people together at the beginning of the year to continue working on the issues that are important. The report generated by everyone over the three days is available to read in the shows section of this website.
Since Devoted & Disgruntled 2 it was decided to continue the discussions on the first Wednesday of every month at Shunt Vaults. This will continue into 2008 and everyone is welcome - if you think the event isn't for you, it probably needs you there. For more information contact Sarah-Jane on sarahjane@improbable.co.uk or visit our facebook group, improbable D&D shunt satellite on www.facebook.com
We are currently piloting an online resource to widen access to mentors and mentoring services within the theatre and performance communities. Those interested in being a mentor, finding a mentor or becoming part of a peer mentoring group should go to projects.
You can buy a workshop CD-ROM from us, on which Phelim is shown working with professional performers towards an understanding of space and objects and how these might form the improviser’s art. Also included are extensive interview texts with Dr Dick McCaw. If you are interested please email office@improbable.co.uk.
